We are seeking a
Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead a high performing team of Software Engineers. As an engineering leader, your role will be instrumental in designing and developing the systems that enable sophisticated Calendar scenarios. You'll collaborate with architects, engineers, data/applied science, and product managers (PMs) to create durable solutions that will lay the foundations for years to come. This is a unique opportunity to lead an engineering team in developing modern, user-centric Copilot scenarios for the Calendar and Places products. Responsibilities- Drive the vision, strategy, and execution for Calendar Copilot scenarios.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of talented engineers fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Collaborate closely with PMs, Architects, engineers, and cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions.
- Oversee the development and deployment of scalable, reliable, and secure services.
- Ensure AI models are effectively integrated into the platform to provide intelligent assistance and enhance user experiences.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in AI and machine learning, incorporating relevant technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Advocate for best practices in software engineering, including code quality, testing, and documentation.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:- Proven experience in leading engineering teams, with a strong background in AI, machine learning, and software development.
- Demonstrated success in building and deploying large-scale, AI-powered infrastructure.
- Solid leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset to drive innovation.
- Effective communication skills to articulate technical concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- A passion for creating transformative AI experiences that improve user productivity and satisfaction.
- Experience with cloud platforms and services, particularly those relevant to AI and machine learning.
- Familiarity with data privacy and security best practices in the context of AI applications.

Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
