Job description

1. Occupational Summary (Position Objective & Authorities)

Objective:
The reliability engineer 3 establishes reliability, maintainability, availability predictions and forecasts mean time to failure in order to improve design functionality and reduce downtime or failures. The reliability engineer also performs reliability calculation, oversees testing and utilizes fundamental failure analysis methodologies to derive root cause of repetitive/cyclic failures. Works under general supervision..

2. Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

A) Check maturity test plans and test reports for technical accuracy
B) Oversee Accelerated Stress Testing (AST).
C) Assess completed test results for acceptability
D) Anticipate reliability related risks for Risk Assessment.
E) Performs MTBF, MTBUR and FMEA calculations
F) Define test methods on new and nouvel design based on expected failure modes
G) Define lifecycle acceptance criteria for seat components and mechanisms.
H) Assessment of existing reliability test methodologies, procedures and specifications.
I) DoE to develop test plan methods and set ups to ensure product robustness and performance.
J) Replicate product malfunctions under control conditions for failure diagnosis.
K) Oversee Accelerated Stress Testing (AST).
L) Build reliability prediction models to evaluate product functionality.
M) Perform statistics and probability analysis for Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA).
N) Anticipate reliability related risks for Risk Assessment.
O) Contribute to developing engineering solutions to failures observed during the life cycle of seats and seats components.
P) Work in conjunction with other engineering and management groups (e.g. Design Engineering, Certification Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Fabrication, Operations, and Field representatives).
Q) Provide feedback to new product development and design engineering.
R) Performs other duties as assigned.

3. Qualification Requirements

A. Education & Qualification-
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related engineering degree; or minimum of 12 years equivalent related experience based on education and or experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge-
5 years of experience in reliability engineering or related experience.

C. Professional Skills-
Basic understanding of Mechanical Systems
Basic understanding of electrical systems
Knowledge of CAD systems (Pro-Engineer and CATIA) preferred
Knowledge of Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) is preferred
Basic knowledge of the following data analysis techniques including:
Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
Design of Experiment (DoE)
Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
Ability to read and review written communication.
Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
