Job Title: SAP Funds Management (FM) Consultant
Location: Remote
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced SAP Funds Management (FM) Consultant with strong expertise in governmental fund accounting and GASB compliance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting ECC to S/4HANA migrations, ensuring budgetary control, fund integrity, and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and support SAP Funds Management (FM) for government accounting environments
- Ensure compliance with GASB (Governmental Accounting Standards Board) requirements
- Support ECC to S/4HANA brownfield migration, preserving:
- Budgetary accounting
- Fund integrity
- Audit continuity
- Configure and validate:
- FM Area
- Funds & Budget Structures
- Commitment/Earmarked Funds
- Availability Control (AVC)
- Validate and reconcile budgetary data (Modified Accrual):
- Budgets
- Commitments
- Actuals between ECC and S/4HANA
- Support reporting requirements:
- Statutory and external financial reporting
- Fund-level statements & compliance reporting
- Budget vs Actual and fund utilization analysis
- Ensure integration across:
- FI / FI-AA (Full Accrual)
- CO, MM, PS modules
- Support SIT, UAT, and Cutover activities, including:
- Fund balance integrity
- Commitment carryforward
- Post go-live stabilization
- Prepare audit-ready documentation:
- Reconciliation reports
- Control validations
- Audit support artifacts
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Funds Management (FM)
- Deep understanding of GASB and governmental accounting (Modified Accrual vs Full Accrual)
- Experience with ECC to S/4HANA migrations
- Expertise in FM configuration and Availability Control (AVC)
- Strong knowledge of cross-module integration (FI, CO, MM, PS, FI-AA)
- Experience with audit support and financial reconciliation
Nice to Have:
- Experience with SAP Grants Management (GM)
- Knowledge of grant-based budgeting and compliance (federal/state/local)
- Strong stakeholder communication skills (Finance, Auditors, Program Teams)
