Technical Product Manager Job Description
Role Overview
The Technical Product Manager (TPM) owns the end-to-end success of a technical product or platform. This role combines deep technical understanding with strong product strategy, customer empathy, and business judgment.
The TPM defines product vision, sets strategy and roadmaps, and partners closely with cross platform product manager, scrum masters, RTE’s architecture and solution engineering. The TPM is accountable for how customers experience EDIP platforms & services.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned to business goals
Identify customer and user needs through data analysis and stakeholder input
Make trade-off decisions balancing customer value, technical feasibility, and business impact
Communicate strategy clearly to executives, stakeholders, and delivery teams
Technical Leadership
Includes strong understanding of:
System architecture and design
APIs, data models, and integrations
Scalability, reliability, security, and performance considerations
Partner with solution engineering and architecture to evaluate solution options and technical investments
Discovery & Requirements
Lead product discovery and problem definition
Translate customer and business problems into clear product requirements
Ensure requirements are well understood and ready for engineering execution
Delivery & Execution
Collaborate with Product Owners and solution engineering teams to ensure effective delivery
Prioritize initiatives based on value, risk, and dependencies
Monitor progress, manage risks, and adjust plans as needed
Validate outcomes against success metrics and customer expectations
