WE HAVE AN EXCLUSIVE ON THIS POSITION/PROJECT: We need a very senior (12+ years, 15 + preferred) Workday Integration Architect with experience exporting Documents as the client moves away from Workday. All the documents must be exported and integrated to the new ERP (Infor) or some other location. Candidates must have experience planning and creating a strategy for exporting extensive document load. THE DATA HAS ALREADY BEEN EXTRACTED AND THIS PROJECT IS SOLEY FOCUSED ON DOCUMENTS. THE ARCHITECT WILL BE A STAND-ALONE RESOURCE FOR DISCOVERY, STRATEGY, PROJECT PLANNING AND POSSIPLY EXTRACTION SO CANDIDATES SHOULD BE VERY HANDS-ON.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Workday Integration Architect to lead the design and execution of enterprise-scale integrations with a strong focus on exporting and migrating large volumes of documents from Workday to downstream platforms (e.g., ERP, HCM, ECM, or Infor systems). This role will be responsible for architecting scalable, secure, and auditable integration solutions to extract worker documents, HR records, and associated metadata from Workday while ensuring data integrity, compliance, and performance. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Workday integration technologies, document extraction strategies, and large-scale migration initiatives in complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect end-to-end Workday integration solutions for extracting high volumes of documents and associated data.
- Lead the design of scalable frameworks to export worker documents, attachments, and metadata from Workday to external systems or storage repositories.
- Define integration patterns using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST).
- Design and implement document migration strategies ensuring completeness, traceability, and auditability.
- Collaborate with HR, IT, security, and downstream system teams to map document structures and metadata requirements.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, retention, and security policies during document extraction and transfer.
- Optimize performance for bulk data and document exports across large Workday tenants.
- Establish validation and reconciliation processes to confirm successful migration of files and records.
- Provide technical leadership and governance for Workday integration standards and best practices.
- Support testing, deployment, and post-migration troubleshooting activities.
Required Qualifications:
- 12+ years of enterprise integration experience with 4+ years focused on Workday integrations.
- Proven experience architecting solutions to export large document volumes (employee files, HR attachments, compliance records) from Workday.
- Deep hands-on expertise with:
- Workday Studio
- Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
- Core Connectors
- Workday APIs (SOAP/REST)
- Workday Report-as-a-Service (RaaS)
- Experience designing document extraction frameworks including attachment retrieval and metadata mapping.
- Strong understanding of Workday data model, business objects, and security domains.
- Experience integrating Workday with downstream platforms such as Infor, SAP, Oracle, ServiceNow, or enterprise content management systems.
- Knowledge of secure file transfer methods (SFTP, APIs, middleware platforms).
- Experience working in large-scale data migration or system transformation programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting a Workday-to-Infor or Workday-to-ERP migration.
- Experience with middleware platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi, Dell Boomi, Informatica, or similar).
- Knowledge of document archival, records management, and compliance requirements in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, insurance).
- Workday Integration Certification(s).
- Familiarity with cloud storage platforms (AWS S3, Azure Blob, SharePoint).
