Job Summary
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and support enterprise-scale private cloud infrastructure based on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). This role will focus on VMware virtualization, cloud platform engineering, automation, infrastructure modernization, security, and operational excellence within a highly regulated financial environment.
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) administration and engineering.
Strong experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and SDDC Manager.
Expertise in VMware NSX for software-defined networking and security.
Experience with VMware Aria Suite (Aria Automation, Aria Operations).
Strong Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server administration experience.
Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM.
Hands-on experience with Ansible automation.
Strong Python scripting experience for API integrations and infrastructure automation.
5+ years of Terraform experience for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of enterprise storage technologies including SAN, NAS, and vSAN.
Experience working in regulated enterprise environments with security, compliance, and disaster recovery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage VMware Cloud Foundation environments.
Build and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
Develop API-driven workflows for VM provisioning and lifecycle management.
Manage virtualization, operating systems, networking, and core infrastructure services.
Ensure platform availability, performance optimization, and scalability.
Implement security controls, RBAC, and micro-segmentation using VMware NSX.
Support infrastructure modernization initiatives and Infrastructure-as-Code adoption.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and operations teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Red Hat OpenShift, VMware Tanzu, or Kubernetes platforms.
Exposure to public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
VMware certifications such as VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, VCAP, or VCIX.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or financial services environments.
