Summary

The Engineering Technician II will perform technical assignments involving the installation and routing of shipboard electronic systems and cabling infrastructure aboard the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75). This role focuses on the execution of site preparation, equipment mounting, and assisting senior technicians with system integration during the RCOH period.

Responsibilities

  • Install and route cables through shipboard transit systems and cableways.
  • Perform terminations and labeling in accordance with technical manuals and SIDs.
  • Assist in the mechanical installation of racks, foundations, and hardware components.
  • Support site preparation and maintain a safe, organized work environment within the shipyard.
  • Support EA Tech III personnel with testing and basic troubleshooting of installed systems.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial, construction, or maritime environment.
  • Clearance: Must possess or be able to obtain a Public Trust.
  • Technical Skills: Solid familiarity with hand/power tools and the ability to follow detailed technical instructions in a loud, high-tempo environment.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Clearance: A current Public Trust is a plus. An active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher is a plus.
  • Preferred Certifications: Maritime OSHA 10-Hour, NAVSEA Cableway Certification.
