Summary
We're hiring a Senior Product Designer to join our Digital Experience team. The work will primarily be for our health insurance portal and app, used by members across the country.
This is a generalist role requiring a breadth of skills. You'll work closely with the Digital Implementation Lead and others across Digital Experience to translate customer needs, business goals, and product strategy into innovative digital solutions. While your focus will be on design, success in this role will require a working knowledge of the technical systems behind our digital experiences and how they influence what we design.
You'll be involved in projects end to end, from research and user testing to working with stakeholders, developing concepts, prototyping, writing UI copy, supporting developers, and ensuring the final product meets UI standards. You'll also share what you know with the other team members, help elevate our UX maturity, and participate in bringing AI tools into our workflow.
Finalists will be asked to perform a short, on-camera design exercise as part of the interview process.
Preferred Qualifications
7 years experience with 2+ years designing transactional consumer-facing products in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated complex domain.
Ability to work with a product owner and diverse stakeholders to understand and define complex business requirements within legacy technical systems.
Demonstrated skill delivering high-quality Figma mocks and prototypes with minimal guidance, including responsive layouts, conditional states, documentation, and accessibility requirements.
Capability for mentoring and reviewing the work of other designers.
Experience performing UX research and usability testing, as well as turning insights into concrete design decisions.
Capacity to write user-focused UI copy without a dedicated content designer.

Company Info
When you hear "BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina," you'll see people nodding in recognition. Most everyone knows who we are. As the only South Carolina-owned and operated health insurance carrier, we have been offering security to Palmetto State citizens for more than 75 years. We are also one of South Carolina's largest employers.
Our financial stability is on record. In December 2021, AM Best reaffirmed our A.M. Best rating of A+ (Superior) - making us the only health insurance company in South Carolina with that rating. One of the few companies nationwide to achieve this distinction, this year also marks the 20th consecutive year that BlueCross met this high standard. For the latest ratings, access www.AMBest.com.
We offer the largest provider networks in the state, offering members the greatest choice in doctors, hospitals and other health care providers.
Our extensive menu of health plans, discounts, added values and online services means more choices for our members, with plans to fit every budget and lifestyle.
What you may not know is just how diverse our company is. Included in our family of companies is BlueChoice HealthPlan of South Carolina, our managed care subsidiary, which also includes Healthy BlueSM, our Medicaid health plan. BlueChoice HealthPlan is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
But there is also a lot more to us than health insurance. We have many affiliated companies that are not licensed with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. These companies are located in South Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas. Some offer other insurance products, such as life insurance and behavioral health benefits and administration. Others administer contracts for the federal government. Some even focus on technology.
BlueCross is also a major supporter of community and charitable causes. We support health care-related research, education and service in South Carolina through the BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Foundation.
