Project Manager SAP (CONTRACT - 6 Months)
Location: Waltham, MA (Hybrid)*
*Hybrid - 2x per week onsite in Waltham (Flexible on which days)
Pay Rate: $70 - 115/hr (depending on experience)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead SAP workstreams within large, cross-functional programs, ensuring SAP deliverables align with overall program objectives, timelines, dependencies, business priorities, and governance requirements.
• Own end-to-end delivery of SAP projects, including new module or capability implementations, system enhancements, integrations, upgrades, remediation efforts, and optimization initiatives from initiation through execution and closure.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans; manage scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, testing, cutover, and stabilization; and ensure disciplined execution aligned with IT and PMO standards.
• Serve as the primary project point of contact between IT and business stakeholders, providing clear, concise, proactive, and executive-ready communication on status, risks, decisions, milestones, and required actions.
• Drive project governance, including working-team cadence, steering committee updates, decision tracking, RAID management, stage-gate readiness, and escalation of critical issues.
• Partner with business and technical leads to ensure requirements, solution design, configuration, integrations, data, testing, training, change management, cutover, and post-go-live support are planned and executed cohesively.
• Identify, assess, and proactively manage SAP delivery risks and issues, including cross-functional dependencies, resource constraints, data readiness, security and controls impacts, and business adoption.
• Ensure delivered SAP solutions align with business objectives, internal control requirements, and measurable value for stakeholders while promoting clarity, accountability, and confidence in delivery.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8–10 years of project management experience, including demonstrated experience leading SAP or ERP projects in complex, technology-driven environments.
• Experience managing full lifecycle SAP implementations, enhancements, integrations, upgrades, or optimization initiatives, including planning, requirements, design, build, testing, cutover, go-live, and stabilization.
• Strong project planning and execution capabilities across scope, schedule, budget, resources, risk, issue, dependency, vendor, and stakeholder management.
• Working knowledge of SAP delivery concepts and cross-functional dependencies across functional configuration, development, integrations, data, security, controls, testing, training, and change management.
•Successful SAP GRC implementation experience required, particularly experience coordinating access governance, role design, controls, testing, remediation, and business readiness activities.
• Experience coordinating SAP functional consultants, technical resources, business process owners, system integrators, and globally distributed teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to provide concise, executive-ready updates and influence across business and technology teams.
• Experience with SAP security, internal controls, SOX, or regulated system delivery is preferred.
• Familiarity with PMO frameworks, stage-gate governance, system development lifecycle documentation, and enterprise application delivery models is preferred.
