AML Analyst

We are seeking an AML Investigations Analyst to support escalations, high-risk client reviews, and wire activity within a busy Compliance team. This role is suited to someone with 3-5 years of hands-on AML investigations experience who is comfortable working across multiple workstreams in a smaller team.
Responsibilities:

• Review and assess AML case escalations received from an external AML provider, including:
  • Reviewing original alerts and investigation write-ups
  • Identifying gaps and completing supplemental analysis where required
• Liaise directly with branches to obtain additional information and follow up on escalated cases
• Manage and respond to inquiries through the AML inbox, including requests from branches and internal stakeholders
• Review wire transactions from high-risk jurisdictions, engage with branches for clarification, and approve release once risk concerns are addressed
• Support a high-risk client remediation initiative, including full reviews of existing high-risk clients
• Provide QA support during ramp-up periods where responsibilities overlap with a dedicated QA function

Must haves Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in AML investigations or financial compliance
• Strong experience reviewing escalated cases and conducting investigative analysis
• Exposure to triage activities is an asset
• Comfortable working directly with branches and asking follow-up questions
• Experience using Verafin or a similar AML monitoring platform
• Strong written communication and documentation skills

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
