Position: Network Security Engineer

Location: Annapolis, MD (Hybrid)

Contract: 12+ Months

Client: Maryland Judiciary Information Systems

Description:

We are seeking a highly qualified Network Security Engineer to support enterprise IT networking and network security operations in a hybrid work environment (Monday through Friday). The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in secure network architecture, firewall administration, and enterprise networking technologies, with active industry certifications from Palo Alto Networks and Cisco.

Work will be performed in a hybrid setting within the Continental United States (CONUS).

Mandatory Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

Education

·        Associate degree (minimum required)

Required Active Certifications

·        Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) OR Palo Alto Networks Network Security Professional Certification

·        Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Enterprise OR CCNA Security Certification

All certifications must be active at the time of proposal submission.

Preferred Qualifications

The Client strongly prefers candidates with the following:

Experience

·        Ten (10) years of CONUS-based technical experience in IT networking and network security

Education

·        Associate’s degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field (as determined by the Client)

Preferred Certifications

(Currently active or expired within three (3) years of proposal submission)

·        Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) OR Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall Engineer Certification OR Palo Alto Networks Network Security Analyst Certification

·        Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise OR CCNP Security Certification

Key Responsibilities

·        Configure, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure and security solutions

·        Administer next-generation firewalls and security appliances

·        Monitor and respond to network security incidents and vulnerabilities

·        Perform network troubleshooting, optimization, and performance tuning

·        Ensure compliance with organizational and federal security standards

·        Provide documentation, reporting, and technical support as required

Work Location & Schedule

·        Hybrid work environment (combination of on-site and remote work)

·        Monday through Friday

·        Work performed within CONUS
