Summary
- Support and maintain enterprise Check Point firewall infrastructure (400+ devices)
- Manage and troubleshoot high availability (HA) firewall clusters across multiple environments
- Perform firewall rule configuration, updates, and policy optimization
- Monitor firewall performance and ensure maximum uptime and failover reliability
- Assist with firewall upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and security-related issues across firewall environments
- Perform rule audits and cleanup to ensure compliance with security standards
- Work within centralized management platforms (e.g., SmartConsole / Security Management Server)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network and application changes
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis related to firewall events
- 4–7+ years of experience with Check Point firewall administration
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Checkpoint firewall platforms (various models and sizes)
- High Availability (HA) / ClusterXL configurations
- Experience managing large-scale firewall environments (hundreds of firewalls preferred)
- Proficiency with firewall rule lifecycle management (creation, auditing, cleanup)
- Experience with centralized management tools (SmartConsole / Multi-Domain Server)
- Knowledge of networking concepts including:
- TCP/IP
- Routing (BGP, OSPF exposure preferred)
- NAT, VPNs, VLANs
- Strong troubleshooting skills across network and security layers
- Experience working in enterprise, team-based operational environments
- Relevant certifications (nice to have):
- Check Point CCSA / CCSE
- Check Point Firewalls
- ClusterXL (HA configurations)
- SmartConsole / Security Management Server
- Multi-Domain Server (MDS) (nice to have)
- VPN technologies
- Network monitoring and logging tools (SIEM exposure a plus)
