Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chicago, IL. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role serves as a key support contact for end business users in a FICC RISK EOD Delivery environment. The successful candidate will join a global team responsible for monitoring and supporting critical trading system applications, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving stability improvements through automation. This position offers exposure to the full front-to-back process, from trade inception to downstream risk feeding.
Responsibilities: - Serve as the first point of contact for end business users in FICC RISK EOD Delivery
- Own and deliver the on-boarding of support processes into the MAPS organization
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with business stakeholders, application development, and infrastructure teams
- Monitor and provide alerting for critical trading system environments
- Troubleshoot complex systems issues and proactively identify and resolve problem hotspots
- Develop tools to drive efficiency and stability improvements
- Manage major incidents and problems, including release implementation and change management
- Manage user query mailbox, respond to and resolve feed and batch support items
- Follow up and coordinate resolutions with various development teams
- Coordinate and perform Business Continuity testing
Requirements: - Strong experience in Linux administration
- Programming experience in at least one language (Python, Shell scripting, etc.)
- Excellent operational skills in troubleshooting Production and Network issues and identifying root cause
- Strong experience in Infrastructure automation using Ansible or Python
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as ELK, Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace, ITSM, ITRS, or JIRA
- Experience working in large-scale environments
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities
Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
