Power BI Developer

Hiring: W2 Candidates Only

Visa: Open to any visa type with valid work authorization in the USA

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards

• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

• Create and optimize data models using Power BI Desktop

• Write and optimize DAX queries for calculations and KPIs

• Connect Power BI to multiple data sources (SQL, Excel, APIs, cloud platforms)

• Ensure data accuracy, performance, and security

• Implement row-level security (RLS) and data governance best practices

• Maintain and enhance existing Power BI reports

• Schedule data refreshes and manage Power BI Service workspaces

• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service

• Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)

• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts

• Experience with SQL (writing complex queries, joins, performance tuning)

• Knowledge of Power Query (M language)

• Experience integrating data from multiple sources (on-premise & cloud)

• Understanding of ETL processes

• Familiarity with data visualization best practices

• Experience with Microsoft Excel

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Azure services (Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse)

• Knowledge of SSAS / Tabular models

• Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)

• Understanding of data warehousing concepts

• Experience with Python or R (for advanced analytics)

• Power BI certification (PL-300)

Education & Experience

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Analytics, or related field

• 8+ years of experience in BI or data analytics roles
