environments on AWS, optimized for data-intensive workloads.
 Establish and maintain "guardrails" including IAM, security policies, naming
conventions, and resource tagging.
 Enforce operational practices by monitoring, auditing, and optimizing cloud
compute (e.g., EC2, EMR, Snowflake) and storage (e.g., S3) to manage costs.
 Build reusable deployment patterns and CI/CD automation to facilitate
environment provisioning for the Data Engineering team.
 Manage infrastructure lifecycle using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as
Terraform or CloudFormation.
 Monitor platform health, manage alerts, and troubleshoot system-level
bottlenecks to ensure high availability for batch and streaming data pipelines.
Data Platform Maintenance
 Administer, patch, and upgrade distributed data processing frameworks and
engines (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, Kafka, Hadoop).
 Own the database administration lifecycle for cloud-native data stores, including
backup/recovery, query optimization, and HA/DR (High Availability/Disaster
Recovery).
 Serve as the subject matter expert on cloud operations, mentoring junior
engineers and assisting Data engineers with environment access and
permissions.
 Partner with Data Admin team, Data Strategy, and Compliance teams to ensure
data platforms comply with regulatory and compliance standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
 Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
(or equivalent practical experience).
 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer, Data Platform
Administrator, or DevOps Engineer, with a strong emphasis on data ecosystem
support.
 Hands-on administration experience with modern cloud platforms in particularly
AWS.
 Familiarity with modern data stack tools such as Snowflake, Cloudera, DataIKU
etc.
 Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Containerization stack
such as Docker, and preferably experienced in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions,
GitLab, Jenkins).
 Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills for cross-
functional collaboration, and a proven track record of creating developer-friendly
platform.
