Job Summary:

As an Engineer in our Davenport Works plant, you'll have the unique opportunity to work alongside our dynamic and innovative engineering team to support and achieve production goals. You will take ownership of several components of electrical, mechanical and quality systems and play a critical role in the safety and performance of equipment and infrastructure. In this role, you will combine technical knowledge, analytical thinking, and hands-on engineering skills to design and implement innovative solutions that meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Drive and engage in cross-disciplinary problem-solving efforts with engineering, maintenance and production teams.
• Oversee all phases of engineering projects - from initial concept and scope development through written specifications, bid solicitation, detailed design, manufacturing coordination, equipment commissioning and final project closeout.
• Develop solutions to support process improvements and enhance equipment reliability, while providing technical assistance to production and maintenance teams.

Also note:

• Relocation is available for this role.
• Onsite full time.
• On call for production issues.

Qualifications

You have: (required)

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field of study (mechanical, electrical, chemical or relevant).
• 1 engineering internship OR 1 year of experience in Engineering field.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Suite
• Experience in manufacturing or related industry
• 3+ years of engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) License or Certified Electrical Engineer (CEE)

About the Team

Davenport Works is the country's largest aluminum rolling mill, it was opened in 1948 and currently employs more than 2,000 people and ships product worldwide. It is in Riverdale in the Quad Cities (Davenport and Bettendorf in southeastern Iowa, and Rock Island and Moline in northwestern Illinois). The Quad Cities is 3 hours south-west of Chicago, 4 hours north of St. Louis, and less than 3 hours from Des Moines. The Quad Cities is home to St. Ambrose University among 8 educational institutes.
