Partnered with a client who is developing a new ocular imaging platform that combines swept source OCT with advanced analytics. They're hiring a Sr Software Engineer to help build the core software that runs the instrument itself - from real time data acquisition through hardware interface/communication and calibration workflows.

This role sits at the intersection of software, imaging, and hardware, with direct ownership of modules that interface with custom electronics and high throughput data pipelines. You'll contribute across the full development lifecycle, working closely with engineering and product partners as the system evolves.

What you'll work on
- Core software for a medical imaging instrument, including real time data and image acquisition
- Hardware-facing components such as custom 10GbE interfaces, RS 232, and other communication protocols
- Instrument calibration tools, logging, and debugging capabilities
- Software architecture, design, implementation, and verification activities
- Translation of use cases and design inputs into production-ready software
- Code that is efficient, reusable, testable, and well-documented
- Ongoing collaboration with cross functional teams on requirements, interfaces, and risk reviews
- Troubleshooting and resolving software issues throughout development
- Participating in peer reviews to maintain a high bar for code quality
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of image processing such as building streaming imaging pipelines or similar high throughput systems
- Strong C/C++ development experience, including multi threaded systems
- Experience with network and serial communication technologies
- Ability to debug across hardware and software boundaries
- Solid grounding in software architecture, design patterns, and object oriented principles
- Experience using Git and working within Agile development environments
- Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and attention to detail
- Exposure to electrical engineering fundamentals or medical device standards is beneficial but not required.
