Substation Drafter/Designer - Power Delivery (Overland Park, KS | In-Office)

We are seeking a Substation Drafter/Designer to join our growing Power Delivery team in Overland Park. In this role, you will support the design and development of electric substation projects by producing and maintaining detailed physical and electrical drawings while collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide drafting and design support for Power Delivery projects, with a primary focus on electric substation design.
• Develop and maintain AutoCAD drawings
• Update existing drawings by incorporating engineer and designer markups.
• Assemble, organize, and prepare drawing packages for client deliverables.
• Utilize Bluebeam Revu Sessions and Projects to support drawing reviews, markups, and document coordination.
• Coordinate effectively with internal disciplines including structural, civil, and survey teams.
• Support project schedules and deliver high-quality work that meets client expectations.
• Ensure compliance with company and client drafting standards, procedures, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting substation physical and electrical design projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience with 3D design software such as Civil 3D, Revit, or Inventor is a plus.
• Ability to interpret and create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and substation physical, civil, and structural drawings.
