Oracle DBA

Livermore, CA - Onsite (4 days per week) 

We are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA with 8–10 years of database administration experience to support enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Oracle databases along with exposure to other relational and NoSQL database technologies, cloud platforms, automation, monitoring, and database migrations.

Responsibilities

• Provide database administration and production support for Oracle and other database platforms.
• Support databases including Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, and DynamoDB.
• Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain reliable database platforms using monitoring, alerting, logging, and continuous improvement practices.
• Automate database provisioning, patching, upgrades, backups, compliance activities, and repetitive DBA tasks.
• Support database architecture, design, migration, and modernization initiatives.
• Support database migrations across cloud services, containerized environments, and different database platforms.
• Create and maintain non-production database environments for development, testing, and QA.
• Perform SQL query tuning, database performance optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting.
• Review database schemas and data models and provide recommendations for application and database performance improvement.
• Support database security, auditing, compliance, and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Build and maintain dashboards, alerts, logs, metrics, and operational runbooks.
• Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, DevOps, cloud, and engineering teams.
• Support enterprise COTS applications, including implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, triage, and customization.

Required Skills

• 8–10 years of experience in Database Administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database.
• Experience with Oracle database administration, backup/recovery, performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with one or more additional databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
• Strong SQL and database performance-tuning experience.
• Experience with database monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident management.
• Experience with database automation and scripting.
• Experience with database migrations, upgrades, patching, and provisioning.
• Exposure to cloud database technologies and containerized environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
