This is a critical position, and we are looking for strong profiles with hands-on experience in designing and leading end-to-end e-commerce platforms.

Job Description E-Commerce Technical Lead
Summary: The E-commerce Technical Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership and implementation of the Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) e-commerce technology ecosystem. This role demands a deep understanding of various commerce technologies , including; Commerce, Order Management, Merchant of Record (MOR), Fraud Management, Tax, and Payment Providers. Key skills include strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, collaboration across teams, and a focus on optimizing both system performance and resource management.
Your Contribution: In this role you will
- Drive the technical implementation for the e-commerce ecosystem, including; B2C commerce platforms, B2B commerce platforms, order management, payment systems, tax, fraud, order tracking systems.
- Design and implement integrations between core order lifecycle systems, including Merchant of Record (MOR) solutions, warehouse and inventory management, ensuring seamless flow from order placement to fulfillment.
- Oversee the integration strategy for expanded commercial channels such as marketplaces, social commerce, and reseller platforms, ensuring robust architecture for expanding to omnichannel models.
- Ensure systems are optimized for performance, security, and compliance.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and hands-on guidance to development teams, including assisting with feature development, code reviews, and solutioning, while driving best practices and key architectural decisions.
- Collaborate with business, product, and IT teams to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives.
- In conjunction with Product Owner develop technical roadmaps that balance short-term needs with long-term goals to future-proof DTC platforms.
- Clearly communicate technical vision, progress, and key decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Identify key dependencies across platforms to mitigate risks and avoid bottlenecks.
- Lead efforts to modernize, maintain, and continuously improve system architecture for long-term stability, addressing performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
- Maintain up-to-date architecture documentation to support ongoing development and operational efforts.
- Actively leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude, Roo Code, Copilot, Gemini) for code generation, debugging, and performance optimization to eliminate manual code writing and accelerate feature delivery.
- Mandate and oversee the use of AI-generated testing and pre-PR validation to ensure code quality, eliminate downstream failures, and automate QA workflows.
- Utilize AI for generating and maintaining technical documentation and structuring knowledge sharing assets.
- Provide mentorship and drive knowledge sharing around AI, guiding team members on new tools, automation capabilities, and strategic AI solutions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in IT, focusing on e-commerce implementations and delivery
- 5+ years of experience in designing enterprise-wide business solutions with high transaction volumes, particularly in global, multilingual implementations.
- Expertise in Commerce Platforms, Payment Gateways, Fraud Prevention, MOR (Merchant of Record), and OMS (Order Management Systems)
- Deep understanding of web architectures , object-oriented design concepts, and data transfer mechanisms.
- Familiarity with e-commerce business models, KPIs, and challenges in multi-currency, multi-country, and multi-language setups.
- Solid understanding of best practices in commerce and ability to bring a consulting approach to help business solve issues and challenges
- Proven ability to analyze complex systems, develop data-driven solutions, and make strategic decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills suited for IT, marketing, and executive audiences.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to collaborate with a diversely distributed global IT and business team members
- Multi-tasking, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
In addition, preferable skills and behaviors include:
- Familiarity with platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Salesforce B2B Commerce, Globale, ESW, Narvar.
- Understanding of supporting technologies such as PIM (Product Information Management), DAM (Digital Asset Management), CDP (Customer Data Platform), and CMS (Content Management Systems), Marketing Automation, Web applications, search, web analytics, content targeting tools,
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and integration tools (Workato, MuleSoft).
- Working knowledge of modern integration technologies including SOAP/REST web services, API integrations, and event-driven architecture.
