The Asset Management Application Development Leader manages a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by Managers and/or Team Leaders that completes the analysis, programming and configuration of IT Systems Software. This job coaches team members on best methods of software development and operational goal setting. Working with the leadership team, this job provides team and project leadership for software development activities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Manages performance of team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional products and engagement, motivation and development of team.
- Defines scope and objectives for software development team goals.
- Reviews the configuration, customization, diagnosis and enhancements of the operating systems software.
- Communicates and implements the strategic direction of the operation.
- Approves the development and implementation of new products, processes and operational plans.
- Provides the highest level of advice and recommendations to maximize the outcomes of development investments.
- Interviews candidates for open roles within the team and provides recommendations throughout hiring process.
- Collaborate with IT partners to devise capacity plan and ensure appropriate infrastructure for the end to end system delivery.

POSITION SUMMARY:We are seeking an exceptional leader for our Fixed Income, Equities and Compliance Technology division, overseeing the strategic development and implementation of technology solutions that support front office research, portfolio management, and trading operations while ensuring comprehensive regulatory compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Product Strategy & Roadmap Development Define and execute the product vision for our fixed income trading and portfolio management technology stack, working closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Technology/Engineering teams.
- Stakeholder Management & Requirements Gathering Primary liaison between Head of Portfolio Management, Head of Trading, Head of Compliance Front Office users and technology teams, translating complex fixed income investment workflows into clear product requirements and priorities.
- Bloomberg Platform Improvements Drive improvements and utilization of Bloomberg's fixed income suite, including Bloomberg Terminal (FXIP, SWPM, CDSW, etc.), AIM, PORT, TSOX, EMSX, and RMS.
- Workflow & Process Improvement Define and drive improvements to Portfolio Manager and Trader workflows like portfolio construction, pre-trade analytics, compliance, order generation, trade execution covering entire gamut of fixed income and equity instruments including derivatives.
- Vendor Management Manage relationships with Bloomberg and other technology vendors negotiating contracts and adherence to Nuveen's Enterprise Vendor Management guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Financial Markets Knowledge Comprehensive understanding of fixed income and equity market structures, derivatives, trading protocols, and settlement processes. Experience with multi-asset trading platforms and familiarity with regulatory frameworks including MiFID II, Reg NMS, and best execution requirements.
- Technical Expertise Deep understanding of front office research platforms, portfolio management applications, and electronic trading systems. Proven experience with order management systems, execution algorithms, and real-time market data platforms. Strong background in system integration, API development, and cloud-based financial technology solutions.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:- 8+ yrs of product management experience in financial services technology
- Fixed income domain expertise - comprehensive knowledge of fixed income markets, instruments (including derivatives), and full trade lifecycle. Familiar with security & risk analytics and bond mathematics.
- Bloomberg Platform Proficiency - prior hands-on experience with Bloomberg platforms including Bloomberg Terminal with deep knowledge of fixed income functions, ALLQ, AIM for portfolio construction and monitoring, compliance, PORT, OMS/EMSX. Understand Bloomberg's data models, APIs, and integration capabilities.
- Portfolio Management & Trading Workflow Knowledge - extensive experience working directly with Fixed Income Portfolio Managers and Traders, understanding their daily workflows, decision-making processes, and technology needs. Articulating those requirements to technology teams.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:- System administration in Charles River Investment Management System including implementation, configuration, and ongoing operational management.
- Experience with CRIMS core Modules, including Compliance Manager, Manager Workbench, Trade Order Management, Position Blotter functionality and comprehensive system admin capabilities.
- Equity Market proficiency.
- Prior experience in middle office operations.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
