The College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC) at the University at Albany is launching an exciting new chapter - and we're looking for a passionate, forward-thinking Lecturer in Game Design & Development (GDD) to help lead the way.
As part of our growing Information Sciences & Technology Department, this role offers a unique opportunity to be a foundational voice in a vibrant, interdisciplinary program that blends creativity, technology, and innovation. We're not just teaching students how to make games - we're empowering them to explore how games can shape culture, solve problems, and drive change.
What You'll Do:
- Teach a range of GDD courses, potentially including game programming, game art, game technology, UI/UX for games, game studies, the business of games, and more.
- Mentor and advise students, helping them grow as designers, developers, and thinkers.
- Contribute to the life of the program through service, co-curricular activities, and collaborative projects.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary research and client-based projects that bring real-world experience into the classroom.
