Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Associate - Protein Chemistry for an Onsite position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Thousand Oaks, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is part of a multidisciplinary Protein Therapeutics team with broad capabilities in protein engineering, expression, purification, and characterization. The successful candidate will support the purification, analysis, and characterization of large molecule therapeutic drug candidates, contributing to the selection of candidates that advance to Process Development.
Responsibilities: - Perform protein purification, analytics, and characterization of large molecules
- Organize, analyze, and report findings to support lead candidate selection
- Partner with Project, Analytics, and Automation teams to advance the pipeline
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (Life Sciences preferred) OR Associate's degree and 2 years of experience OR High school diploma / GED and 4 years of experience
- Academic research experience is desirable
- Experience with protein purification, analytics fundamentals, techniques, instrumentation, and software
- Familiarity with a variety of chromatography techniques (Affinity, IEX, HIC, RP, MMC)
- Experience with liquid chromatography instrumentation (FPLC) and software (Unicorn)
Desired skills: - Protein purification exposure or experience
- Laboratory experience conducting experiments
- Research experience obtained while pursuing degree
- Familiarity with protein purification techniques, instrumentation, and related laboratory workflows
- Some post-graduate industry experience (up to 1 year) is acceptable
Pay range: up to $21.45 per hour
