Quality Associate - Burst House (3rd Shift)
Position Summary

The Quality Associate is responsible for supporting testing operations and ensuring the quality of raw materials and finished products through audits, inspections, and verification activities. This role helps ensure compliance with internal quality standards, engineering specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements while promoting continuous improvement within manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform independent audits and inspections of Burst House testing operations for air-cooled products, including helium and pressure-based leak testing as applicable.
  • Verify proper execution of leak checks, burst tests, and post-test inspections in accordance with approved work instructions, control plans, and engineering specifications.
  • Execute two-layer verification of critical quality checks, including:
    • Confirming operators perform required inspections and tests correctly.
    • Validating that test results, pass/fail dispositions, and rework actions are accurately documented.
  • Audit test area readiness and compliance, including equipment condition, calibration status, safety interlocks, fixtures, and adherence to standardized work practices.
  • Identify, document, and escalate nonconformances, test escapes, and process deviations through the quality management system.
  • Verify traceability and data integrity for Burst House testing, including unit identification, test parameters, results, and retest requirements.
  • Capture and upload traceability photos and audit evidence for all audited units.
  • Monitor and verify containment activities related to leak failures, burst test failures, and supplier-provided components impacting test performance.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams to:
    • Communicate audit findings.
    • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
    • Track the effectiveness of implemented improvements.
  • Report daily testing results, audit findings, and nonconformance trends.
  • Support and enforce ISO 9001 quality management system requirements and internal audit standards.
  • Perform component and feature verification as required, including fittings, welds, joints, caps, labels, and similar product characteristics.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Quality or Operations leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, quality control, inspection, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and process nonconformities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 35 pounds repeatedly and stand or walk for the majority of the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a technical or related field.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives.
Work Schedule

Shift: 3rd Shift

Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:30 PM - 6:00 AM EST

Work Arrangement: 100% onsite

Additional Requirements: Occasional overtime and weekend work based on business needs.

Compensation: $18-20 / HR

This position is based in a manufacturing environment and requires frequent interaction with production equipment, testing stations, and cross-functional operations teams. The role demands a strong commitment to quality, safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
