Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior UX/UI Designer to design intuitive, accessible, and user-centered experiences for a complex enterprise application. This role will support a single strategic project and work closely with product owners, software engineers, business analysts, and research stakeholders throughout the full product development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate brings strong end-to-end UX/UI experience, from user research and workflow definition through prototyping, usability testing, and high-fidelity design. This individual will help establish consistent design patterns while balancing user needs, accessibility, business requirements, and technical feasibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with product owners, engineers, business analysts, and research stakeholders to understand user needs and translate requirements into effective digital experiences.
  • Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, and usability testing to identify pain points and validate design decisions.
  • Develop user journeys, workflows, information architecture, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
  • Create high-fidelity UI designs and detailed design specifications for engineering implementation.
  • Use Figma and established design systems to create scalable, consistent, and reusable design patterns and components.
  • Incorporate user feedback, analytics, and usability findings into iterative design improvements.
  • Ensure designs meet accessibility standards, including WCAG guidelines and user-centered design best practices.
  • Present design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate within an Agile product development environment and maintain close alignment with engineering throughout implementation.
  • Balance usability, accessibility, business objectives, and technical constraints when making design recommendations.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional UX/UI design experience supporting complex web applications, enterprise software, or digital products.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating the full UX lifecycle, including user research, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, interaction design, and high-fidelity UI design.
  • Advanced experience with Figma or comparable modern design and prototyping tools.
  • Hands-on experience conducting user interviews, usability testing, and iterative design validation.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Experience working within Agile, cross-functional product teams alongside product managers, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly explain design rationale to technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing AI-powered, conversational, or agentic user experiences, including chat interfaces and human-AI interactions.
  • Experience designing data-intensive applications, analytics platforms, research platforms, or scientific software.
  • Experience within healthcare, life sciences, biomedical research, or other regulated industries.
  • Strong understanding of design systems and experience creating reusable UI patterns and components.
  • Experience leveraging analytics and user behavior data to guide design decisions.
  • Familiarity with generative AI concepts and how users interact with AI assistants.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with service design, process design, or workflow optimization.
  • Knowledge of biomedical or clinical research workflows.
  • Experience collaborating across distributed teams within large enterprise organizations.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to effectively collaborate with front-end development teams; hands-on coding is not required.
