Summary
This is a 12-month hybrid contract role (4 days on-site) paying $70/hour. You'll work with a strong development team on carrier-grade wireless infrastructure supporting Wi-Fi offload and secure roaming technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) policies and databases for carrier-grade Wi-Fi environments
- Configure and manage Wi-Fi Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0) and OpenRoaming solutions for seamless network roaming
- Build and optimize SQL and NoSQL databases to handle high-volume authentication transactions and session management
- Implement and maintain security protocols including IPsec, TLS/RADSEC, and certificate management
- Configure DHCP, DNS, and IP address management solutions for dynamic Wi-Fi environments
- Set up and manage carrier-grade AAA platforms such as Nokia AAA and FreeRADIUS
- Test EAP-SIM and EAP-AKA authentication flows using network simulation tools
- Design secure tunneling solutions using EoGRE or IPsec for access point-to-core routing
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of RADIUS authentication and EAP methods (EAP-SIM RFC 4186, EAP-AKA RFC 4187)
- Strong SQL and NoSQL database design and management experience, including high-availability architectures (e.g., MySQL Master/Slave)
- Proficiency with Wi-Fi Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0) configuration and Wireless Broadband Alliance standards
- Experience with carrier-grade AAA servers and session management systems
- Working knowledge of IPsec, TLS/RADSEC, and certificate management
- Familiarity with DHCP, DNS, and IPAM solutions
- Experience with network simulation and testing tools (Spirent, Ixia, Calnex, or equivalent)
- Understanding of EoGRE and IPsec tunneling technologies
- Ability to design systems handling high transaction throughput with low-latency requirements
