Summary

A growing cloud services and media delivery platform is looking for a highly experienced Linux Infrastructure Administrator to join the core team responsible for scaling and supporting its global content distribution backbone. This role is central to the design and operation of DNS, CDN, and high-capacity routing infrastructure that supports a fault-tolerant, low-latency platform serving millions.

This is a deeply technical, hands-on position suited for someone who thrives in high-availability environments and has built or supported large-scale, performance-sensitive networks. You'll be involved in everything from routing optimization and network automation to incident response and traffic engineering. Strong candidates are comfortable working independently, solving complex problems under pressure, and collaborating effectively in fast-moving environments.

This is a full-time onsite role based in downtown Toronto.

Required Skills & Experience
  • hands-on experience in network engineering, including deep understanding of IP protocols, HTTP/S traffic flows, and content caching strategies
  • Strong experience managing large-scale DNS infrastructure, including record management (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, etc.) and operational best practices
  • Proficient in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or Perl, combined with solid Linux systems knowledge in production environments

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Familiarity with DNSSEC, DNS hardening, and defenses against spoofing or poisoning attacks
  • Understanding of anycast routing, BGP, DDoS mitigation, and experience with open-source routing stacks like BIRD or FRR
  • Prior exposure to high-throughput media delivery or video platform infrastructure, especially within CDN or traffic-heavy environments

Daily Responsibilities
  • Hands-On Engineering: 75%
  • Team Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work: 25%

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis now and in the future.

Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the hiring process as required under Motion Recruitment's Employment Accommodation policy. Applicants need to make their needs known in advance.
