Job DescriptionYou will be the Industrial Engineer Sr. For the Industrial Engineering team. Our team is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and reducing costs, with a strong emphasis on analytical skills to drive data-driven decision making.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Industrial Engineer Sr., you will lead space-planning initiatives across our manufacturing footprint and drive cross-functional projects that improve productivity, elevate quality, and eliminate waste. You will be the go-to champion for scaling production while optimizing factory layout and implementing lean principles.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Redesign shop-floor layouts - Partner with the shop-floor Industrial Engineering team to re-configure cell layouts, optimize material flow, and position equipment for maximum utilization and throughput.
- Scale production capacity - Develop and implement layout strategies that accommodate projected volume growth while maintaining optimal space utilization and minimal bottlenecks.
- Lead lean-performance initiatives - identify waste, run Kaizen events, and apply 5S, cellular manufacturing, and pull-system principles to continuously improve flow.
- Manage cross-functional implementation - coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, and safety to schedule moves, verify clearances, and track performance improvements.

The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Research, or a closely-related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3 + years of experience applying industrial engineering tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with CAD software for manufacturing system design (AutoCAD, MicroStation, SolidWorks, or comparable)
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret clearance
Desired skills- Familiarity with Lean, Six-Sigma, or other continuous-improvement methodologies
- Experience leading plant-wide layout initiatives and translating concepts into executable implementation plans
- Proficiency with predetermined motion-time systems (PMTS), work sampling, direct time-study, and other techniques for establishing standard times
- Familiarity with ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor) and MES/OEE systems
- Experience building discrete-event simulation models (Arena, Simul8, FlexSim, SIMIO) to evaluate layout alternatives and capacity scenarios
- Ability to manage timelines, resources, and milestones for multi-disciplinary projects

Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $77,700 - $136,965. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
