This role focuses on designing, building, and validating simulation frameworks to support inventory, supply chain, and operational decision-making.
The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in probability theory, stochastic modeling, and Python, with hands-on experience building scalable simulation solutions in cloud-based data environments.
This is a fully remote role, with preference for candidates located in EST or CST time zones. Candidates should be comfortable with technical interviews, including live Python coding.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy simulation models for inventory and operational systems
- Apply probability theory, stochastic processes, and Monte Carlo methods to model uncertainty
- Build and maintain simulation frameworks using Python, SQL, and PySpark
- Develop solutions within Azure Databricks (ADB) or similar cloud data platforms
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to define simulation inputs and data pipelines
- Validate, calibrate, and stress-test models using historical data and sensitivity analysis
- Follow CI/CD best practices and manage code using GitHub
- Ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability in production environments
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in data science, simulation, or modeling roles
- Hands-on experience with simulation modeling and probability theory
- Strong Python coding skills (required during interview process)
- Experience with PySpark and large-scale data processing
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks or similar platforms
- Experience using CI/CD pipelines and GitHub
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in retail, inventory, supply chain, or operations research
