OverviewDevelop, implement, and maintain enterprise geospatial databases supporting GIS architecture. Optimize performance/capacity, plan expansions, and enable mission GEOINT workflows across OGC-compliant environments.
- Engineer database strategies for enterprise GIS (SQL Server/PostgreSQL).
- Monitor/tune performance, capacity, reliability, and availability.
- Support deployment/admin of GIS server equipment and associated data stores/services.
- Manage static and streaming geospatial datasets; ensure data integrity and continuity.
- Produce documentation and provide technical guidance; support shifts/deployments as required.
Requirements Requirements - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum eight (8) years progressive experience improving/maintaining Microsoft SQL and/or PostgreSQL databases.
- Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and enterprise database strategies.
- Familiarity supporting GIS architectures and OGC-compliant applications/data services.
- Strong written/oral communication; able to lead technical tasks and guide others as needed.
Required Security Clearance - Active TS/SCI required prior to start; must maintain required accesses.
- Must obtain/maintain applicable DoD 8570.01 baseline certification (per role requirements).
Job Location - North Carolina (NC), United States - on-site at Fort Bragg (Fort Liberty), NC and/or Fayetteville, NC as assigned; deployment support as required.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weight up to 25 pounds as necessary.
