Your role and responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant, Data Governance, you will work with data teams in the formation and execution of data governance framework, policy, and standards. This role will help develop and implement data governance principles within various business areas of our client organizations in order to establish a unified, holistic approach to data governance and, ultimately, drive a high level of data quality throughout the organization. Keys to success in this role are the ability to build strong partnerships with business and IT stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have professional data governance experience, strong business acumen, and will be able to leverage these competencies to provide stewardship and oversight of critical data assets.

Required education

Required technical and professional expertise

We are looking for people with experience designing and building enterprise data strategies for implementation, integration and usage of data.

The successful candidate will have experience interacting with business and IT stakeholders to advance an organization's thinking of data governance concepts, and the ability to explain the benefits of data governance policies and procedures within the context of the business needs.

7+ years of relevant data governance or data management experience (operating model, master data, metadata, data quality, data modeling and data standards).

5+ years experience leading the development of enterprise data governance.

Experience developing recommendations to improve accountability, quality, and adherence to data policies, standards and quality improvement efforts.

Experience in driving solution design and execution of data governance efforts that span across business lines, technology, and platforms to address enterprise data needs Experience performing data audits, identifying data collection issues, suggesting improvements and implementing fixes

Understanding and proficiency with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data sources, to include at least intermediate SQL proficiency

Experience defining and implementing data management frameworks that align with overall business and technology strategies

Experience with, and substantial understanding of, data governance and data quality tools such as Collibra, Atlan, Alation, IBM watsonx.data intelligence, etc

Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment

Ability to create required artifacts and deliverables for workshops, interactive sessions and client acceptance

Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills

Preferred technical and professional experience

Data Governance Process Design: Experience with designing and implementing data governance and data management processes, including data quality and metadata management.

Stakeholder Analysis and Communication: Experience in conducting stakeholder analysis, developing communication plans, and executing communications to support data governance initiatives.

Data Quality Rule Implementation: Experience working with technical resources to implement data quality rules and automate monitoring and reporting.

Data Governance Technology Expertise: Experience with data governance technologies for data quality and metadata management, including issue tracking processes, to support the design and implementation of data governance processes.

Advanced Metadata Management: Experience creating and implementing complex metadata management repositories to capture business and data quality rules, enabling effective data quality reporting and dashboarding.

Technical Collaboration: Experience working with technical resources to implement data quality rules and automate monitoring and reporting, ensuring seamless integration of data governance processes with existing systems.
