Project Manager to work in our
Fairfax, VA office.
ECS is seeking a Project Manager to provide project management support for several ongoing efforts supporting development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solutions for the Department of War, specifically in the field of autonomy. This position assists with and leads customer engagements including technical discussions and project monitoring and control.
The Project Manager reports directly to the Autonomy Program Manager and provides analysis on current and planned activities daily. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to; organizing/scheduling/leading meetings, managing project plans, action items and risks; organizing project kickoff and Technical Exchange Meetings; supporting contract actions and financial tasks such as tracking invoices; managing specific project efforts; and assisting in organizing events with DoW partners.
Position Responsibilities: - Work closely with the Autonomy Program Manager supporting daily activities.
- Schedule and lead meetings with vendors and Government Customers.
- Documents and tracks project changes, risks, and issues through resolution.
- Regularly meets with stakeholders to identify and document business, functional, and technical requirements with an analytic and restructuring process mindset.
- Oversee the development of AI/ML integration solutions.
- Contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly status reports.
- Support development and maintenance of Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).
- Develop and maintain project plans and schedule documents.
- Maintains and updates all requirements documentation
- Communicates changes to requirements and projects to all stakeholders
- Assist the Autonomy Program Manager with estimating project cost.
- Assist the Autonomy Program Manager with project initiation, planning, execution and closing.
- Provide operational support to the Autonomy Program Manager relating to procurement, staffing, and ongoing program initiatives.
- Assist the Autonomy Program Manager with leading daily, weekly, and other reoccurring team and customer meetings.
Required Skills - Bachelor's degree in project management, Business Administration, Systems Engineering/Management, Public Administration, National Security, Defense, or related field.
- Experience in developing and managing projects, to include project teams, prioritization of lines of effort, planning, scheduling and close out. Experience working with the US Government/DoW.
- Knowledge of Agile, Kanban and/or JIRA.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Proficient with technology such as MS office Suite, JIRA, Gitlab, and other ticket tracking systems etc.
- Proactive and organized, with strong attention to detail and initiative to take action.
- A critical thinker with the ability to tackle discrete objectives while maintaining focus on the bigger picture / broader strategy.
- Advanced ability to proactively, professionally, clearly, and concisely communicate with peers and executives orally and in writing.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines and critical, quick turnaround, ad-hoc tasks.
- Flexible; comfortable with ambiguity, competing priorities, matrixed organizations, and multiple stakeholders.
- A team player with proven ability to positively interact with peers and executive management.
Desired Skills - Current, active Secret security clearance, with the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- Knowledge and/or experience with the DoW Secure Unclassified Network (SUNet).
- Prior project team/project management experience (e.g., planning, requirements, financial management, documentation, client reporting, quality control, scheduling, etc.).
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Experience with government contracts and purchasing.
- Knowledge of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARs) and Government Procurement.
