Job OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Anaplan Engineer to lead the development of enterprise financial planning solutions as part of a major transformation initiative replacing a legacy Oracle-based clinical financial system with
Anaplan-based forecasting and planning models.
The role will be responsible for
architecting and building complex Anaplan models supporting clinical trial financial planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling across multiple workstreams.
This position will play a key role in enabling
real-time financial planning and advanced forecasting capabilities for global R&D operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesAnaplan Model Development- Design, build, and maintain complex Anaplan models supporting FP&A and R&D financial planning.
- Develop scalable financial models for clinical trial forecasting, budgeting, and accrual management.
- Implement multi-dimensional models, modules, lists, and dashboards.
Architecture & Solution Design- Lead the technical architecture of Anaplan financial planning solutions.
- Define modeling standards and best practices.
- Ensure models are scalable, performant, and maintainable.
Forecasting & Scenario Modeling- Implement real-time forecasting models.
- Build scenario simulation capabilities for financial planning.
- Support predictive planning initiatives using Anaplan capabilities.
Cross-functional Collaboration- Partner with FP&A, accounting, and clinical finance teams to translate business requirements into technical models.
- Work closely with product owners, architects, and platform teams.
Platform Integration- Support integrations between Anaplan and enterprise financial systems.
- Ensure data flows support planning and forecasting processes.
Mentorship- Guide and mentor junior Anaplan engineers and model builders.
Required Qualifications- 6+ years experience in Anaplan development
- Strong expertise in: Model buildingFinancial planning modelsMulti-dimensional modeling
- Experience supporting FP&A or finance planning systems
- Strong understanding of: ForecastingBudgetingScenario modeling
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Anaplan Polaris
- Exposure to PlanIQ / AI forecasting capabilities
- Experience with Anaplan CoPlanner
- Experience in biopharma, life sciences, or R&D financial planning
- Strong knowledge of clinical trial finance or R&D budgeting
