Summary

Domicile Information

This is a hybrid position located in Plano,TX. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.

Essential Functions

About the Role - Under general supervision, designs, codes, tests and deploys software in all layers of the development life cycle. This role will help build and scale a comprehensive suite of cloud-based Retail Solutions that support the Retail point-of-sale/Revenue, Customer, and Location business domains. The position focuses on building strong full-stack engineering fundamentals while applying modern SDLC practices, including cloud-native application deployment and responsible use of AI-enabled development tools, within established architectures and standards.

1. Design, build, and deploy highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native applications.

2. Own and support automated software builds and releases using modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

3. Actively participate in peer code reviews, applying and sharing constructive feedback to maintain high code quality and architectural standards.

4. Proactively troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues to ensure system reliability.

5. Collaborate in Agile ceremonies and follow modern SDLC processes to deliver value incrementally.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Hands-on experience developing enterprise software using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular, with a solid grasp of 12-factor cloud-native architecture.

2. Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and server-side development.

3. Development experience with modern UI technologies/frameworks such as Angular or React.

4. Proven ability to manage and deliver assigned tasks efficiently within an Agile framework.

5. Excellent analytical, communication, and collaborative problem-solving skills to work effectively in a team environment.

6. Development experience using cloud platforms like Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Azure Kubernetes (AKS) or Google Kubernetes Environment (GKE). General knowledge or Cloud Platforms like Google (Google Cloud Platform), Amazon (AWS) or Microsoft Azure is considered a plus.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, engineering, or information systems and/or equivalent.

Minimum Experience

One (1) year work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
