**🔹 Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced **Senior VMware Engineer (L3)** to manage, optimize, and maintain an enterprise virtualization environment. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in VMware vSphere 8, ESXi, and vCenter, along with experience leading infrastructure upgrades, patching cycles, and hardware refresh projects.
**🔹 Key Responsibilities**
- Serve as the Level 3 escalation point for VMware/vSphere issues, troubleshooting and performing root-cause analysis.
- Administer and optimize clustered ESXi hosts, including HA, DRS, vMotion, resource pools, and capacity management.
- Plan and execute patching, upgrades, and firmware/driver updates across ESXi hosts, vCenter, and related components.
- Lead hardware refresh projects, including host provisioning, workload migration, and legacy infrastructure decommissioning.
- Monitor platform health, performance, capacity, and maintain technical documentation.
- Collaborate with storage, networking, and security teams to resolve infrastructure issues.
- Mentor L1/L2 support teams and improve operational runbooks.
**🔹 Required Skills & Qualifications**
- 7+ years of VMware administration experience in an enterprise environment.
- Strong hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere 8, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Experience managing clustered ESXi environments, including HA/DRS configuration and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience with enterprise patching, upgrades, hardware refreshes, and workload migrations.
- Knowledge of SAN/NAS storage, vSwitch/vDS networking, and backup integration.
- Ability to work onsite in Jersey City, NJ, three days per week.
**🔹 Nice to Have**
- Exposure to VMware vSphere 9.
- VCP-DCV or higher certification.
- Automation and scripting experience with PowerCLI, Ansible, or Python.
- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
