Job Title: Senior Full Stack Engineer
Job Location: 100% Remote Job Duration: Contract through the end of the year with possible extensions Profile: Must have strong JavaScriptES6 and AWS serverless development.
JOB DESCRIPTION: As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, candidate will be responsible for complex software development including coding, managing small sections of ongoing projects and closely adhering to deadlines. Candidates will also take responsibility for creating design specifications, unit testing, and preparing technical documentation. Candidate will ensure relationships with customers and cross-team members and are professional and meet expectations.
The Client - a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to providing excellence and equity in education - manages a complex and comprehensive suite of data systems, data feeds and reports to support students and educators across multiple assessments, programs and services. Working within the Information Technology division and across the operations and key business units, the Senior Full Stack Engineer will analyze procedures, and design and implement solutions to attain high data quality and process automation. The Senior Full Stack Engineer will design, develop and implement solutions, based on a set of standards and processes which establish consistency across the enterprise data, reduce risk, and promote efficiencies in support of the organization's goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have designed, developed and implemented serverless software solutions in support of data quality and automation. The candidate will also possess technical skills and experience in the data management domain that will help their ability to design and develop elegant and efficient data processes and systems.
Required Skills: - Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience building full-stack applications with Node.js and React.js in a cloud environment
- Deep working knowledge of AWS serverless architecture (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, Kinesis, RDS)
- Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
- Design and development experience building and monitoring microservices
- Hands-on CI/CD experience (Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline)
- Strong fundamentals in OO design and computer science principles
- Working knowledge of distributed architectural design patterns
- Knowledge of systems analysis/design (OOAD, UML) and database design
- Solid grasp of SDLC and modern software engineering practices
Preferred Skills: - Experience with event-driven architecture and stream processing patterns
- Exposure to agentic AI / LLM-based tooling (e.g., Claude, Copilot, LangChain, or similar) for development acceleration or automation
- Experience with infrastructure as code (AWS CloudFormation, CDK, or similar)
- Fluency with KMS, ALB/ELB, Route 53, VPC
- Experience with GitHub-based CI/CD workflows
- Background in high-frequency data monitoring or tooling
- Agile/Scrum team experience with a collaborative, team-first mindset
- Additional language exposure (Java, Python) is a bonus, not a substitute for React/Node depth
- Relevant AWS or professional certifications
