Location: Remote. Candidates in Pacific Time (PST) or Central Time (CST) preferred for collaboration with U.S. and Singapore (APAC) teams.

Job Description
We are seeking a Service Engineer 5, Building Automation to join our dynamic team supporting global data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS), Direct Digital Controls (DDC), and mission-critical facility controls and a proven ability to review and standardize controls designs, support construction and commissioning, and resolve issues to maintain reliable operations.
Responsibilities:
- Review BAS designs, controls schematics, sequences of operations, points lists, and network architecture for global data center projects.
- Drive standardization of building automation and controls designs across the worldwide portfolio in alignment with established engineering standards.
- Support construction and commissioning by creating and executing test scripts, validating system performance, and resolving technical issues.
- Partner with vendors, integrators, and cross-functional engineering teams to review deliverables, identify risks, and ensure successful implementation.
- Provide technical oversight for hyperscale build-outs, review BAS submittals, and track design comments through closure.
- Maintain documentation for design changes, lessons learned, and standards to improve future deployments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Substantial hands-on BAS engineering experience, including design, programming, commissioning, or support in mission-critical environments.
- Proficiency reviewing controls design packages, sequences of operations, controls schematics, points lists, and BAS submittals.
- Experience supporting commissioning activities, functional testing, issue resolution, and performance validation of BAS.
- Knowledge of major DDC platforms and building automation protocols such as BACnet and Modbus, and familiarity with DDC and PLC control systems.
- Proficiency with documentation and design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Visio.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to document findings and track design comments to closure.
- Approximately 8+ years in relevant BAS and mission-critical roles.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with hyperscale data center design, construction, commissioning, or operations.
- Familiarity with major DDC vendors such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or Automated Logic.
- Experience authoring, maintaining, or enforcing engineering standards across a project portfolio.
- Prior work in cross-functional, global project environments with vendors and system integrators.
Schedule and Logistics
- Work hours: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. No overtime expected.
- Time zones: Ability to collaborate with U.S. and APAC teams, including occasional meetings with Singapore-based stakeholders.
- Attestation: Cloud Attestation required.
- Equipment: Standard equipment (laptop, mouse, headset, extra monitor) provided by supplier.
Hard Skills Assessments
- Scheduling: As soon as possible.
- Process: 1-2 rounds.
- Preparation: Be ready to discuss BAS platforms, commissioning activities, controls design reviews, and experience in data centers or other critical facilities.
Disqualifiers
- No BAS engineering experience.
- No mission-critical or data center experience.
- Insufficient industry experience for the scope, targeting approximately 8+ years.
- No experience reviewing controls engineering deliverables.
- No commissioning or field implementation experience.
- Limited knowledge of major DDC platforms and building automation protocols.
- Inability to collaborate across U.S. and APAC time zones.
