Data Architect

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to design and scale enterprise data platforms that power analytics, reporting, and AI-driven use cases. This role will define the target-state data architecture, guide engineering teams, and ensure data platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with business priorities. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in modern cloud-based data architectures, strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft data stack, and a proven ability to translate business needs into robust, production-grade data solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Data Architecture

• Define and evolve the organization’s enterprise data architecture and platform strategy
• Design scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient data platforms supporting both operational and analytical workloads
• Establish architecture standards, integration patterns, and best practices for enterprise data environments 

Platform & Technology Leadership

• Architect and guide implementation of solutions using the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem
• Lead design of:
• Enterprise data lakes and modern data warehouse platforms
• Lakehouse and hybrid data architectures
• Batch and real-time data processing frameworks
• Data integration and transformation pipelines 

Data Engineering & Integration

• Provide architectural oversight for ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion frameworks, and streaming solutions
• Ensure seamless integration across enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, and external data sources
• Optimize performance, scalability, and cost of large-scale data workloads 

Data Governance & Security

• Embed data governance, quality, lineage, and monitoring into platform design
• Ensure data solutions comply with enterprise security, privacy, and regulatory requirements
• Implement access controls, encryption standards, and secure data sharing mechanisms 

Analytics & AI Enablement

• Design data platforms that support advanced analytics, BI, and AI/ML workloads
• Enable scalable access to trusted data for analytics, reporting, and data science teams
• Support self-service analytics while maintaining governance and control 

Stakeholder & Delivery Leadership

• Partner with business, analytics, and IT stakeholders to align data architecture with strategic priorities
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineering and platform teams
• Contribute to solution design for transformation initiatives and large programs 

Required Experience

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, big data architecture, or enterprise analytics platforms
• Proven experience in architecting and modernising large-scale enterprise data environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data and analytics services
• Experience designing both batch and real-time data processing architectures
• Strong understanding of enterprise data modelling and integration patterns 

Technical Skills

Cloud & Data Platforms

• Microsoft Azure data services (data storage, processing, orchestration, and analytics)
• Experience with modern data lake, lakehouse, and cloud data warehouse architectures 

Data Engineering

• Distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark or equivalent)
• Data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration tools
• Streaming and event-driven data processing technologies 

Data Management

• Data quality, metadata management, and lineage solutions
• Data governance and compliance frameworks
• Data security and privacy architecture 

Architecture & Integration

• API-driven data access and system integration patterns
• Scalable, modular, and cloud-native architecture design
• Performance tuning and cost optimization strategies
