The Sales Performance & Training (SP&T) team plays a key role in helping the company achieve its mission by delivering high quality learning designed to help individuals realize their full potential and the organization work as a single supportive team focused on making our customers successful.
We are seeking a team member who is passionate about fostering an environment of continuous learning and excellence. We're looking for someone skilled in designing engaging learner experiences and ensuring that learning objectives are met and connected to improving business outcomes. They will be an expert in adult learning and instructional design methodology; and experienced in building computer-based eLearning modules and online, virtual instructor-led classroom-based training. Success in this role is critical to the SP&T team's goal to equip all employees with the skills, knowledge, abilities, and resources to be successful in their respective roles.
Key Responsibilities - Designs and develops training with a focus on continuous improvement and excellence.
- Consults with various cross-department subject matter experts to develop individual training program goals and learning objectives. Ensures learning is focused on increasing employee skills.
- Applies knowledge of instructional design theory to design course content, working with subject matter experts, management, trainers, etc. May be asked to create new training programs from scratch, with some manager guidance, starting with an analysis of training needs.
- Applies knowledge of adult learning theory to design training which maximizes learner engagement and retention. Training delivery is a blended model of learning modalities, including virtual instructor-led classroom, self-paced eLearning modules, videos, role plays, simulation and case study exercises, documentation, and on-the-job training. Some classroom-based training may also be delivered.
- Updates and modifies existing training curriculum, content, materials, etc. to meet changing learning needs. Including converting existing training content to e-Learning formats.
- Designs evaluation strategies and tools to determine whether desired learning objectives and performance outcomes are achieved.
- Reviews program evaluations, test results, and participant and manager feedback on training effectiveness to make recommendations for program improvement.
- Works with the LMS administrators to upload and maintain course content.
- Participates in department meetings and material review sessions.
- Incorporates company values into each customer and co-worker interaction.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Skills and Competencies - Prior experience includes working with moderately complex content and designing and delivering training for multiple delivery modalities (online classroom, self-paced e-Learning modules, instructor-led classroom, etc.)
- Prior experience includes designing and delivering sales training.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration skills.
- Instructional design experience with ADDIE, SAM or other design model.
- Has broad knowledge of instructional technologies and is proficient in the advanced use of e-Learning tools that do not require programming [e.g., Articulate (required), Camtasia].
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates strong project management skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in order to meet internal client demands.
- Functions well within a collaborative team environment.
- Experienced with Learning Management Systems (docebo preferred)
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Google (Drive and Sites) product suites.
Education Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Learning and Development, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Business, Communications or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 2+ years training experience or equivalent, preferably formal training.
