JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Senior Java Developer / Technical Lead - Enterprise Backend
Location: Remote

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop microservices using Spring Boot, delivering APIs with 99.9%+ uptime handling 10,000+ daily transactions
- Architect database schemas, optimize queries, and implement caching strategies to improve performance by 30-40%
- Lead teams of 6-8+ engineers across onsite/offshore locations; conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers
- Implement event-driven architecture (Kafka), security protocols (OIDC/JWT), and cross-system integrations
- Manage CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Spinnaker) and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Debug production issues, implement monitoring/logging solutions, and ensure system reliability
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:
- 15+ years of experience in Java development, including 8+ years in enterprise architecture and 5+ years in technical leadership.
- Hands-on production experience with microservices, Oracle databases, and high-scale systems supporting 100K+ users.
- Experience with AWS IAM, including users, roles, permissions, and access policies.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Java 8, 11, 17, 21+; Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate/JPA
- RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, Oracle PL/SQL
- Git, Maven, JUnit/Mockito, Agile/Scrum
- Microservices design patterns and SOLID principles
SPECIAL MENTION - KEY DOMAIN-SPECIFIC SKILLS (NON-JAVA)
- KAFKA - Event-driven systems, real-time messaging, cross-service data sync
- DATABASE & CACHING - Oracle 19c/12c, Caffeine Cache, Oracle Coherence, Oracle ThirdEye (query tuning)
- APACHE SOLR - Full-text search, indexing, sub-second response times for 500K+ records
- DEVOPS & CI/CD - Jenkins pipelines, Spinnaker, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub workflows, Maven
- CLOUD & INFRASTRUCTURE - Apple IS-Cloud, internal enterprise cloud platforms
- MONITORING & OBSERVABILITY - Splunk, distributed tracing, contextual logging
- SECURITY PROTOCOLS - OIDC, JWT, OAuth2, SSO implementation, vulnerability scanning
- PERFORMANCE TESTING - JMeter load testing, Postman API automation
- AI-ASSISTED DEVELOPMENT - Claude, Enterprise Assistant, Roo Code for code generation and automated testing
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Reactive programming, AWS/Google Cloud Platform experience, Kubernetes advanced concepts
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field
