The Work The Security Administrator play s a vital role in protecting and securing our organization's networks and information systems. This role will be responsible for configuring security systems, analyzing security requirements, developing strategies for system protection, and implementing measures to mitigate potential threats. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with expertise in monitoring network traffic, identifying suspicious activities, and enforcing established cybersecurity standards.

Responsibilities Key Responsibilities - Security System Configuration and Maintenance:
- Configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise-level security systems, hardware, and software.
- Customize configurations to align with the organization's security requirements and keep systems operational and up to date.
- Threat Detection and Response:
- Monitor network traffic and system logs to identify suspicious behaviors and potential security breaches.
- Investigate and respond to unauthorized access attempts, system modifications, or signs of potential data destruction in real time.
- Requirements Analysis and Security Improvements:
- Analyze existing security architectures, assess system vulnerabilities, and identify gaps in coverage.
- Develop and implement recommendations to strengthen system defenses.
- Policy Development and Authorization Management:
- Create and refine network security policies to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards.
- Design and enforce authorization roles to control access privileges and ensure proper segmentation of user rights.
- Defensive Operations Support:
- Implement measures to defend against unauthorized system access, data breaches, or incidents involving modifications and destruction of sensitive information.
- Stay updated with emerging cybersecurity threats and adjust defenses accordingly.

- Level 1: 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. - Level 2: 4-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required .Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
- Level 3: 8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicatedtasks,a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Minimum Skills: - Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills .
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze systems and procedures
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately .
Desired Qualifications: - Proven experience in configuring and administering security systems, firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus platforms, and encryption tools.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and port communications (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with security monitoring tools like SIEM (e.g., Splunk, QRadar ) and network forensic tools.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and regulatory requirements like HIPAA, PCI DSS, or GDPR.
- Hands-on experience creating policies and mapping them to organizational goals.

Working Conditions - Professional office environment , with the ability to work onsite in the main office .
- Must reside in the Austin area.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
- Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen .
- May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
- May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
- May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
- T ravel costs, per diem, and other related expenses must be pre-approved in compliance with State of Texas travel guidelines.
