Title: Database Architect
Location: Malvern, PA (Hybrid)
DB2 to AWS RDS Migration
Required skills & experience
12+ years of database engineering, administration and architecture, with 5+ years
hands-on with AWS RDS and/orAurora.
Proven delivery of at least 2 end-to-end DB2 to AWS RDS (orAurora) migrations in
production.
Strong IBM DB2 knowledge: SQL PL, stored procedures, utilities, catalog, and
performance tuning.
Expert with AWS DMS and AWS SCT, including CDC, LOB handling, data type mapping
and conversion issues.
Advanced SQL and deep expertise in one or more RDS/Aurora target engines
(PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle or SQL Server).
Deep AWS knowledge: VPC networking, IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch,
CloudTrail, S3, Lambda, EC2 and Route 53.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose connection failures across network, TLS, driver and
authentication layers.
Hands-on database security experience: threat detection, audit logging, access
reviews, encryption and hardening against CIS benchmarks.
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and scripting in Python, Bash or
PowerShell.
Experience in financial services or other regulated environments (SOX, PCI or similar
controls).
