Role Overview
The Senior Strategic Growth Advisor (SSGA) is a senior-level, client-facing sales professional responsible for acquiring new customers for GovCon Bids’ Growth-as-a-Service offerings.
This is a Sales-as-a-Service, role designed for experienced BD professionals who understand consultative selling, GovCon buyers, and subscription-based professional services.
SSGAs operate as trusted advisors—owning prospect engagement, opportunity qualification, solution alignment, and deal execution—while leveraging GovCon Bids’ defined sales process, pricing framework, and onboarding infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
New Customer Acquisition
- Identify, engage, and qualify prospective GovCon clients
- Lead consultative sales conversations focused on client pain points, growth goals, and buying criteria
- Position GovCon Bids’ Growth-as-a-Service subscription as a strategic solution
- Drive opportunities from initial contact through verbal commitment and contract execution
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales leadership, contracts, onboarding) to close deals efficiently
Opportunity Qualification & Deal Strategy
- Apply structured qualification standards (pain, budget, decision authority, timing)
- Participate in internal Go/No-Go decisions
- Align proposed solutions with client objectives and success factors
- Support pricing discussions and contract alignment within approved frameworks
Sales Process & CRM Discipline
- Follow the GovCon Bids Sales Process, Pricing Process, and Contract Process
- Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and customer data within the designated CRM
- Ensure new customers are properly transitioned to onboarding and customer success teams
Customer Transition & Relationship Support
- Support early-stage customer success during onboarding
- Maintain strategic relationships during the first year of the client lifecycle
- Identify expansion, renewal, and referral opportunities in coordination with internal teams
Performance Expectations
- Successful SSGAs consistently build and convert a qualified pipeline of new GovCon clients
- Meet ramp and production expectations aligned with subscription sales goals
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and alignment with GovCon Bids’ growth standard
Qualifications
Required
- Proven experience in Business Development, Sales, or Growth roles
- Demonstrated success selling professional services, consulting, or subscription offerings
- Understanding of the GovCon ecosystem (small businesses, primes, federal buyers)
- Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills
- Ability to operate independently while following structured sales processes
- U.S. Citizenship (required)
Preferred
- Experience selling to or supporting government contractors
- Familiarity with capture, proposal, or growth advisory services
- Existing network within the GovCon community
- Prior C2C, fractional, or advisory sales experience
