Description:

We are seeking a highly analytical IT Business Analyst to support enterprise application initiatives within a dynamic oil & gas environment. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and development resources to gather, analyze, and document requirements, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL, a solid understanding of process flows and business requirements documentation (BRDs), and exposure to custom .NET application environments. A high-level understanding of APIs and data integration concepts is also important.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document detailed business and functional requirements
• Develop clear and concise Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, and user stories
• Analyze current-state processes and define future-state process flows, identifying opportunities for optimization and automation
• Work closely with development teams (including .NET developers) to translate business requirements into technical deliverables
• Utilize SQL to query, validate, and analyze data to support business decisions and system enhancements
• Support integration efforts by understanding data flows and API interactions at a high level
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirements sessions
• Assist with testing efforts including UAT planning, test case development, and validation of deliverables
• Ensure traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or similar role
• Strong experience writing BRDs, functional requirements, and process documentation
• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders and development teams
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience working in a custom .NET application environment
• High-level understanding of APIs, integrations, and data exchange concepts (REST, JSON, etc.)
• Experience in the oil & gas industry, particularly with operational data
• Familiarity with OSIsoft PI (PI System) data, production data, or real-time data environments
• Exposure to Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies
