Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Duration : Permanent
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical products for data center applications.
- Perform electrical calculations, component selection, cable sizing, and wiring schematic development.
- Design UL-compliant control panels and integrate motors, VFDs, transformers, and protection devices.
- Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks and PLM systems.
- Implement engineering changes (ECO/ECM) and support product design lifecycle activities.
- Collaborate with global teams, manufacturing, vendors, and customers to resolve design issues.
- Support prototype builds, testing, design verification (DVP/DVR), and product validation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, or Electrical Design Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks for 3D modeling, drawings, and product documentation.
- Experience in electrical product design, control panels, power distribution systems, or data center infrastructure products.
- Knowledge of electrical components, motor controls, VFDs, transformers, protection devices, wiring schematics, and cable sizing.
- Experience with CAD, BOM management, PLM systems, and Engineering Change Management processes.
- Strong problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, manufacturing support, and product validation skills.
