Location: Roseland, New Jersey (3 days in office/2 remote)
Employment Type: 12+ month Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking a Lead Middleware Engineer to join a growing team focused on the availability, performance, and capacity of key middleware tools. This role will lead the middleware platform strategy, designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise integration solutions using IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG) and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE). The position involves overseeing integration development and ensuring secure, reliable file transfers and message routing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and support of global integration solutions, including IBM SFG and IBM ACE.
- Manage and maintain middleware infrastructure for high availability, security, and performance.
- Develop B2B file transfer workflows, partner onboarding processes, and data transformations.
- Support IBM Sterling Gateway (SFG) requests and manage partner onboarding, routing channels, and business process modeling.
- Implement message flows, error handling, and integration patterns using IBM ACE.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of integration developers and engineers.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and business teams to define requirements.
- Monitor and troubleshoot middleware issues, performing root cause analysis to drive resolutions.
Required Qualifications
Experience:- 5+ years of experience in Middleware or Enterprise integration roles.
- Experience supporting IBM Sterling Gateway (SFG) and proficiency with partner onboarding, routing channels, and business process modeling.
- Strong understanding of file transfer protocols (SFTP, AS2, FTP/S), B2B integration standards, and security (TLS, PGP).
- Experience working in an AWS environment.
Technical Skills:- Hands-on experience with IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG).
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Shell or Python for automation.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting message flows and system logs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), including message flows, ESQL, and integration nodes.
- Experience with containerized deployments.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace.
- Knowledge of other cloud integration platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Rate: $75.00 - $83.50 per hour.
