Description An organization is undertaking a major modernization initiative to transition its aging on-premise environment into Microsoft Azure. The scope includes upgrading SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms, modernizing Linux and PHP-based systems, stabilizing custom application services (PDF generation, image processing, OCR, alerting), and consolidating legacy workloads. The team is finalizing Azure landing zone foundations, implementing cloud storage architecture for a large volume of image data, and preparing all applications and databases for a full cloud migration.
Responsibilities- Perform Azure landing zone cleanup, including policies, virtual networks, network security groups, logging configuration, and budget controls.
- Implement Azure Blob Storage with CDN to support large-scale file storage needs
- Complete identity and email modernization tasks, including decommissioning legacy Exchange components and finalizing Entra ID/identity governance tuning.
- Assist with server migrations, transitioning workloads from IaaS-based hosting to PaaS services where appropriate.
- Configure CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with Linux/PHP engineering resources.
- Deploy and configure Azure Backup, Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, and monitoring solutions, ensuring security and resilience across the environment.
- Migrate custom OCR and PDF processing workloads into Azure using Virtual Machines or Container Apps.
Requirements Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and Azure Stack.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions.
Proficiency in managing Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Entra ID.
Demonstrated ability to conduct server migrations and optimize cloud infrastructure.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline setup and management.
Familiarity with tools like Azure Backup, Defender for Cloud, and Key Vault.
Experience with Linux systems and PostgreSQL database upgrades.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
