This is a hands-on, fast-paced role at the intersection of hardware, software, and machine learning -- where the work you build directly impacts the quality of next-generation Apple products.
Our team sits at a critical intersection -- bridging Algorithm, Quality Assurance, and User Studies teams to drive innovation in video engineering. We build the tools, frameworks, and pipelines that power how Apple collects, manages, and processes data at scale. This role is primarily on-site in SCV, as it involves direct interaction with lab equipment, Apple devices, and in-person user study participants.
BS and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience\n2+ years of Python\n1+ years of software framework design and development\n1+ years of experience with a major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, or equivalent internal platforms)\nComfortable with Git, REST APIs, SQL, and NoSQL databases\nExperience designing and deploying automated systems\nSolid understanding of the software development lifecycle and engineering best practices
Experience with robotics or industrial automation -- familiarity with robot kinematics, motion planning, or hardware control systems\nComfortable working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with shifting priorities and tight timelines\nStrong curiosity and drive to explore new technologies -- including AI/LLM tools -- to improve workflows and solve novel problems\nFamiliarity with device automation and UI scripting on Apple platforms\nExperience building internal tooling or lightweight web interfaces as a complement to backend/automation work\nGood verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration\nA builder mentality -- you take ownership, move fast, and care about the quality of what you ship
