Our organization is expanding its analytics, forecasting, and operational intelligence capabilities across an integrated, cloud-based environment. The Alteryx Engineer is responsible for the full lifecycle of analytics automation and data integration solutions, including requirements analysis, design, development, deployment, and operational support. This role builds and supports scalable data workflows, applications, and integrations that power reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost modeling, and enterprise analytics.
This position works within a cross-functional Agile team and interacts with multiple platforms, data sources, and cloud services to ensure solutions are secure, reliable, well-governed, and aligned with architectural and quality standards. The role also contributes to data governance, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts and may also support additional engineering, automation, or data initiatives as team and business needs evolve. Responsibilities:
Alteryx Development & Data Engineering:
Design, build, enhance, and maintain complex Alteryx workflows, applications, and macros
Develop ETL/ELT pipelines supporting analytics, reporting, forecasting, and financial processes
Support automated data extractions and transformations across multiple enterprise systems
API, Platform & System Integrations
Build and maintain integrations with systems such as Workday, Adaptive Insights, Tableau, PostgreSQL, and REST endpoints
Implement secure authentication, error handling, and integration monitoring
Cloud Engineering & Infrastructure Support:
Support analytics solutions across multi-environment Alteryx Server instances (DEV, UAT, PROD)
Work with cloud services (AWS S3, EC2, RDS/Aurora, Lambda, Glue, networking, IAM) to build and scale data solutions
Financial & Costing Workflow Support:
Build and support workflows that enable cost accounting-based forecasting, along with cost allocation cycles, budgeting activities, pricing models, and related financial processes
Ensure data accuracy, traceability, and reliability across financial analytics and planning workflows
Serve as an escalation point for workflow failures, data quality issues, and production incidents
Perform unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing
Create SOPs, architectural diagrams, implementation guides, test documentation, and troubleshooting playbooks
Security & Access Management:
Configure and maintain role-based access controls
Support SSO/MFA and secure identity practices
Follow data handling, encryption, and compliance standards
Data Governance & Metadata:
Maintain metadata, data lineage documentation, and data standards
Support metric development, governance reviews, and reporting consistency
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accuracy across analytics outputs
Agile Delivery, Change Management, & Release Support:
Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
Work collaboratively with architects, developers, cloud engineers, and product owners
Deliver enhancements iteratively and adapt to changing requirements
Support platform releases, environment updates, and Alteryx Server upgrades
Follow structured change-management processes and maintain readiness documentation Perform additional analytics, engineering, or platform support responsibilities as assigned to meet evolving business and technical needs
Required Skills:
3+ years of hands-on experience with Alteryx Designer (workflows, macros, automation)
Experience with Alteryx Server (scheduling, permissions, monitoring)
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Experience with REST APIs and integration patterns
Familiarity with cloud platforms and data services
Strong understanding of ETL, data modeling, data warehousing, and data quality practices
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Preferred Skills:
Alteryx Designer certifications required.
Experience with Workday, Adaptive Insights, Tableau, or similar tools
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, or related tooling
Familiarity with additional cloud services (AWS Lambda, Glue, Aurora, etc.) Required
