Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Lead Data Architect with strong Data Modeling expertise to define and govern NAPD DI data models, domain architecture, and reusable data products for the Intelligent Data Platform (IDP). The role will drive foundational data domains (Customer, Product, Vendor, Finance, Supply Chain, Contract, Pricing, etc.), establish canonical models, and ensure consistent implementation across Databricks, Azure, Snowflake, and downstream analytics ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Define USPD conceptual, logical, and physical data models for IDP foundational domains.
- Establish canonical data models, data contracts, business definitions, and domain boundaries.
- Design and govern Bronze, Silver, and Gold layer modeling standards within the Databricks Lakehouse architecture
- Lead source-to-target mapping and data harmonization across SAP, Salesforce, Snowflake, legacy warehouses, and enterprise applications.
- Create reusable cross-domain data products that support analytics, AI/ML, and operational reporting.
- Drive master data and reference data architecture for Customer, Product, Vendor, and Finance domains.
- Develop naming standards, key management strategies, hierarchy models, and metadata standards.
- Partner with Data Governance, Product Owners, Business SMEs, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment.
- Conduct architecture reviews and ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, governance, security, and lineage standards.
- Mentor engineering teams on data modeling best practices and design patterns.
Required Qualifications
- 13+ years of Data Architecture and Data Modeling experience.
- 8+ years designing enterprise-scale data platforms in cloud environments.
- Expert knowledge of:
- Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modeling
- Dimensional Modeling (Star/Snowflake)
- Data Vault 2.0
- Canonical Data Models
- Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Master Data Management (MDM)
- Strong experience with:
- Azure Databricks
- Unity Catalog
- Azure Data Factory
- ADLS Gen2
- Snowflake
- SQL and Python
- Experience building Distribution business related data products and data marketplaces.
- Strong understanding of metadata, lineage, data quality, governance, and stewardship frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional POD delivery models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical distribution, healthcare, supply chain, pricing, finance, or commercial data domains.
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, BW, Salesforce, and enterprise ERP ecosystems.
- Experience defining AI-ready data foundations and feature stores.
- Familiarity with Collibra, Purview, Alation, or equivalent governance platforms.
